Our suppliers have merged ancestral techniques and knowledge with new technologies. They have made the ethical choice of preserving low impact, traditional processes, while seeking solutions that are respectful of the environment (water reuse, low electrical consumption and recycling of all surplus materials).
To minimize scars and “defects” that would cause leather to be wasted, our suppliers prefer free-range animals, thus encouraging farmers to treat their animals with more care.
We work with leather that has already been prepared. Large companies often order colors or styles they may not use, so we have many choices among the left-over stock, and we are happy to give life to high-quality unused leather goods.
We create sewing patterns that permit us to get the most from our materials. Nothing goes to waste. For example, we use the remaining material from our leather bag production to create our earrings, wallets and glasses cases. The last bits from our belt production are recycled into key chains.
We always select the most beautiful part of the leather for the fronts of our bags, keeping scars and natural life marks for the backs or the insides. We believe the rawness of the leather is its animal essence, bearing the marks and scars of life.
Leather ages beautifully and marks eventually fade into the leather, becoming part of its unique patina.
